Welcome to the official Travel & Attendance Grant Application for the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) Students and Young Professionals (SYP) Congress 2025, taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, from August 13–15, 2025.
These grants are designed to support active IEEE AESS Student Members and Young Professionals by providing partial reimbursement for travel-related expenses. Applicants must be active AESS Chapters or Student Branch Chapters Officers who demonstrate leadership, engagement, and financial need.
Grant Coverage:
- International participants – up to 800 USD based on demonstrated need, region, and distance from the event’s host country.
- Local participants (residing in Kenya) – up to 100 USD
Eligibility
- Be active IEEE AESS Student Members or Young Professionals
- Serve as officers in an AESS Student Chapter or Student Branch Chapter
- Demonstrate leadership, engagement, and financial need
Guidelines
- Grants are reimbursement-based, not prepaid
- Reimbursements will be processed via IEEE Concur (instructions will be shared with selected participants)
- Expenses must follow the IEEE Travel Guidelines and AESS Expense Guidelines
- Reimbursement requests must be submitted within 30 days of the event
- Receipts are required for all expenses over 25 USD
- Accepted recipients will be notified of the exact reimbursement amount upon acceptance
Requirements for Grant Recipients
- Attend all official sessions of the SYP Congress
- Participate in the poster session
- Attendance will be monitored throughout the event
